Last night. Canterbury Autumn Race
Meeting.
Racing tot the Handicap. The death of ojd Templeton, and the scratching of Fishhook, On Dit and York left nine to face the starter. After a series of attempts Mr Campbell got the lot away fairly well together, the leaders being Marie Antoinette, Mata, and Betrayer, with the rest in a cluster. Passing Eedwood's Marie still led, Titania now lyin£ third, well up, while Betrayer had fallen to the rear. Foul Play now went up to the third place, and Titania also was pushing forward. Bounding the turn, Betrayer was coming through the rest, md all buts two were well up. Mata and Foul Play led into the straight, the former having the best of it. Nearing home, Camballo came forward at atremendous pace, catching and passing Mata amidst great excitement, and landing a winner by a length. Betrayer made a bad third. This day. Christcbirch. Races. Nukßbry Handicap, fire furlongs :— Gare, 1; Governor, 2 ; Sir Modred» 3. Easteb Handicap. — Camballo, 1; Betrayer, 2 ; Foul Play, 3.
