; ■■■■;. ■■ .«■ This day. Strange Drowning Accident. Charles Duke, the settler drowned in the Waikato Hirer, last night, had towed his horse across, and was in the act of remounting when the horse reared and fell over the bank into the river. Deceased leaves a wife and one child, and has friends in a high position at home. The body has not yet been found.
