The Cricket Match.
A capital game was played between a local team and one from the Caralry. Mr Crump was Captain of the Thames men, and Mr Wood of the Trcopen. The game was played well throughout, some, of the men showing good work, and towards the close the interest was intense, the scores being eren. Our men won by only three runs:•—Cataiby—Parr, b Spencer, <<; Mclntosh, b Spencer, 2; W. Bond, run out, 0; W. Hunt, b Gray, 0; J. Wood, c Murphy, b- Munro, 16; Mears, not out, 5; Pilling, b Spencer, 1; McFarland, b Spencer, 5; F. Bond, run out, 4; Ellison, b Munro, 0; Shaw, c Munro, b Gray, 0; extras 29. Total, 65. Thames.—Spencer, c Bond, b Wood, 0; Lawless, c Bond, b Wood, 7; Egginton, c Pilling, b Wood, 6 ; Murphy, b Ellison, 13; Young, run out, 9 ; Gray, run out, 2; Turner, b Ellison, 0; Steedman, b Wood, 11; Crump, b Wood, 0; Munro, c Hunt, b Wood, 3; West, not out, 0; extras, 17. Total, 68.
