,■.■-'""'■■ ■:■'■" , ' This day. Tho Oralsoi Meeting, ': Considerable excitement was caused at the Orakei meeting today by the arrival of Ngapui, chief of the Ngakuru, from Parihaka. He says the roads will never meet, and the climax: will come on the Plains. If the line of road meets, the Maories will lose all faith in Te Whiti. Sydney Taiwhanga bet the Ngapubi chief a horse that the road will be made. The right to levy tolls on the wharf was sold to-day for one hundred and fifty, two pounds per month. Thomas Hanken, clerk of the Kail way Department, was charged at the Police Court to-day with embezzling several sums of moiey, principally paid on the conveyance of parcels.
