Last night.
A portion of the Good Templar Lodge, Hope of Manukau, being dissatisfied with the working of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand North, have joined the Pride of Manukau No. 3.
A deputation from the Wan gar ci County Council waited upon the Hon. Mr Rolleston to-day urging the construction of the Kamo railway to deep water. Mr Kolleston said £30,000 had been spent on the suggested work without any pro»pect of an equivalent return. In the present financial state of the country nothing more would be expended till the House met.
Mr Eolleston, at the request of the Thames deputation, agreed to proclaim the Thames Orphan Home under the Neglected and Criminal Childrens' Act. Mr Kolleston had a long conference with the Education Board, but the result is not known, as the Press were not admitted.

The Catholic schools marched this morning in procession to the Domain, headed by a band, where sports are being held.
Judge Fenton, of the Native Land Court, goes to Taranaki to-day'to give evidence before the Koyal Commission.
The Premier, accompanied by J. Macfarlane and Mr Brett, yesterday visited the abattoirs, waterworks, and Lunatic Asylum, ordering some alterations in the latter. ' ■■' '
