THE CADETS.

The Navals and Scottish Cadets were inspected by Colonel Leckie at the Naval Hall last erening. The IN avals mustered about 42 strong, and the Scottish about 30. Sergt.-Major Grant put the companies through the bayonet drill, and Captains Mennie and Savage the manual exercise. The lads looked very well on the whole, though we would suggest that an effort should be made to provide every member with a complete uniform, the general appearance of both companies being injured by one or two lads appearing partly in mufti. Col. Leckie^xpressing himself satisfied with the lads. Before dismissal P.O. Ingles was presented with a handsome smoking cap and a microscope, prizes won at recent firing competition, and Cadet Jennings with an order for 35 rounds of ammunition, also a shooting prize.
