Thames High School.
A meeting the Governors of the Thames High School was held this morning. Present—Mayor (Mr Ehrenfried), in the Chair, Messrs Speight, Marshall, Brown, Brodie, McCullough, and Dr Kilgour. Mr Lawlor was also present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The sub-committees reported the steps they had toward providing seats and desks for the school, and the alterations for the Girls' School, and also that Mr O'Sullivan had kindly undertaken to prepare papers for the examination for the scholarships. The Chairman, Dr Kilgour and. Mr Brown were appointed to superintend the examination.
The Chairman was authorised to conclude the purchase of the school and grounds from Mr Dean, ■ after which the Committee visited the premises and ordered a number of alterations and improvements to the school house and the dwelling for the nead master. , A list of intending competitors from the Kauaeranga Girls', School was received from Miss Hazelden.
