A NUISANCE.
(To the Editor of the Evening Stab.)
Sib,—-Tliere is near the Templar Hall, a right of way, aud steps forming nearly a line with Mary street, and much use by the inhabitants of the Block. But not so much as they would be but for the most offensive effluvia from one. or two small buildings. The contents of one near the bottom are often flowing into the small side drain intended for carrying off storm water. One or two of the parties near also make a practice of running soapsuds and other matters down these drains. I would suggest that these parties be alloweH to throw them, ie., the offensive matter at the roots of their trees and pumpkins, where* they will tell \to advantage without endangering the health of the neighbourhood. I am not aware who should see to correcting this matter officially.—l am &c., Oifactoby.
