" As the daughter of Caroline Chisholm, the emigrant's friend, I thank the Australasian people for their munificent subscriptions to the Mansion Honse fund for the relief of Irish distress. Do not know what we could have done without your aid. It makes me proud of my old home. £1500 per Bank Australasia, £1500 per- Union Bank Australia, £500 from Launceßton, £1000 from Adelaide just received. Again thanks.
