Obstruction Carried out Effectually.
The Irish Works Bill debate in the House of Commons derived its chief importance through the Irish members prolonging the discussion to shelve Mr Hewdegate's motion to prevent obstruction. Government was thus induced to
replace Newdegate's with their own resolution. It is believed they are desirous of an appeal to the country on the obstructive cry.
