GISBORNE.
Last night.
After hearing much evidence, the Stewards of the Poverty Bay. Turf Club arrived at the conclusion that in regard to the malpractices at the late races, the irainer and jockey of Bolle, of Mania, and rider of Little Wonder be disqualified from ridiog on any course under their control.
Harry Hastings, bookmaker, being found guilty of malpractices iv regard to the Country Stakes, is not to be admitted in future to any grand stand or saddling paddock under, their control.. In consequence of the evidence given by Mr Thompson, rider of Sylvia, exposing a swindling transaction, his disqualification only extended to 18th August next. The public confidence in the district is severely shaken in turf matters, owing to late disclosures. Mr WY L. Rees, solicitor, bt gan practice here today. Allan McDonald, M. U. R., addresses his constituents to-night.
