The statement of the trustee of the Kaitangata fund, shows that of the total amount of the fund £15,315, the sum of £655 lls 2d is to credit on the current account; £14,000 is on deposit, £20 was received as interest on deposit account, and £558 from sundry investments, and £11,500 was paid to executive committee, £14,203 remains ta the credit of the .fund. •'.■',.' In reply to, a deputation which waited on him to-day on several matters in connection with the Port line, Mr Conyers expressed himself favorable to leaving the'carriage doors unlocked, explaining that danger to children had been the only cause for this not having been done in past, however, he believed a spring had been made which would lessen the risk.
