Another Industry.
JAM PRESERVING,
The success that attended Mr Richard Hudson's efforts last year in preserving the fruit grown by him in his garden at Pavawai iuduced him to enter upon the industry on a large scale tbis season. He imported from Tasmania the most approved applauces, and can now tin a large quantity ." of fruit. We have repeatedly pointed out the -suitableness of this district for fruit-growing and the bountiful yield of our trees this year has beea taken t dvantage of by Mr Hudson. The establishment of such industries will go a great way to add to the permanence and future prosperity of this district, and if facilities wore afforded men to acquire small freehold farms, we believe a great deal of attention would be given to fruit growing. We wish Mr Hudson, success in his. undertaking, and hope the example set by him and Mr Koeford will be followed by others.
