: Tfais^ay •Mr Clarke, who represeriW^pydney capitalists, visited the oil springs in this district, and expresses himself,, much gratified at the splendid indications ot oil. After some days' difficult negotiations satisfactory arrangements have been made with all'parties, and a company will be immediately formed with a large capiial to work the springs. This is the best thing that has happened for the district for a long time. , ■ Paul Rote, an influential chief, vdiedyesterday. A large tangi u^being held.
