The Borough Council bud a meeting this morning to discuss what steps should be taken to receive Sir George Grey and the Hon. Mr Whitaker.' Afti-r some discussion it was resolved that as a Council, no steps should bo taken. The County Council arrived at a similar conclusion, the- Chairman being requested to act with the Mayor aud Chairman of the Harbour Board, and personally to meet the visitors.
