Academy of Music.
There was again a large and appreciative audience at the Academy of Music last evening on the occasion of the second representation of Bachelder's Pantascope. The views were the same as those shown on the opening night, viz., the chief points of interest on the Pacific mail route between American and Australia, comprising in addition to the American scenery, views of Auckland and Sydney harbors. The descriptive lecture is pleasantly delivered by M. Chalet. At the close of the first part of the pantascope, M. Chalet, with the aid of his automaton figures and a youth from the audience, gave his ventriloquial entertainment, and shewed himself to be one of the most finished artists in that line that has visited New Zealand, One of the songs by "George," a parody on "My Grand-
father Clock," was capitally rendered and fairly brought down th« house. A largo number of gifts—all apparently being of good quality—which can hardly be said of many of the gift shows that hare visited the Thames —were distributed and appeared to give general satisfaction.
