The directors of the New Zealand Shipping Company United have declared an interim dividend at the rate of ten per cent, per annum for the half year ending December 31st, 1879, payable ou the 31sfc instant.
A well-known publican and another person were caught on Friday trout fishing in a prohibited portion of the river which runa through the Domain Gardens, and an information has been laid under the Domain Board Act.
The Sydenham Presbyterian Church congregation, at a meeting held last night;,
unanimously resolved to give a call to the Rev. Thos. Robinson Cairns from the Irish Presbyterian Church.
The trade are complaining of two publicans who have commenced to employ touts at the railway station to meet the
passenger trains
