Thames High School.
A meeting of the Governors of the Thames High School was held tbis forenoon in the Mayor's room. Present— Messrs Ehrenfried (in the Chair), McCullough, Brodie, Brown, Speight, and Marshall. COKEESFONDENCE. Letters and telegrams received since last meeting were read, also copy of a letter forwarded to the Secretary of the Commission on Higher Education, Christchurch, stating the position and prospects'of the school. HEADMASTEBSHIP. The appointment of a head-master for the school was then discussed, after which Mr McCullough proposed and Mr Marshall seconded that Mr Morrison, B. A. of Oxford, and .it presentassistant-master in Christ's College and Grammar School of Chris!church, be appointed headmaster of the Thames High School. Carried unanimously. A telegram was at oace sent to Mr Morrison notifying him ot his appointment, and requesting him to take charge at the earliest possible time, as the Board was most anxious to open the school. The appointment of lady-assistant was not proceeded with as letters are expected upon which the decision of the Board may depend. This closed the business.
