WAIO-KARAKA SCHOOL.
We visited the WaioKaraka School this afternoon, on the occasion .of the/> breaking up acd the making known of the Examiners' awards. On entering, tme '' > attention was. .attracted by the wort - " Welcome," prettily worked in fioweiei > ' inside of which hung a handsome wreath, - the wofk of Miss White, The lamest sehoblroom was very tastefully decorated -Kwith ferni and flowers—the work of the * teachers and senior children, who mart hart spared bo time or taatteia trier to
make such & pleasing display. In spite of the inclemency of the weather, there was a large attendance of the childeren; all neatly dressed. , Mr McCullough occupied the chair, and gave a short address, and also read the names of all the scholars who had been awarded prizes. Mr Phillips, the head master, gave a report, and spoke highly of the services rendered by the staff" of assistants. The prize list we will publish in tomorrow s issue.
