The Ashburton fork line, 22 miles, estimated cost £74,000; Waimate buah, 17 miles, '£100,000; and the Duntroon-Haka-tarmea, 41 niiiaa, £125,000. Beferrin^ to the ownership of lands he pointed oat that in the Waimate Plains McCaughan holds 30,305 acres and another block of 1970, Larnach and Driver 20,151, Larnach 1170, Webster 15,554. Duntroon line:—The Hon. Robert Campbell 3600 acres, and John McGregor 1000, C. K. Howden,, 1000, J. Frnser 1000, Moody. MOO, Moody 300, A. Burt 200, C. D. E. Ward 100. Ho read the list of the shareholders in the Waimate line, including Studholine's Brother Michael. The total rateable value of the property was only £31,668.
