This day. The City of Sydney left 'Frisco -bftu . November 24th, and arrived at Aueklaat - wharf at 9 p.m. last night. She'brings the following passengers for Auckland:—i Messrs G-. Wilson, J. F. Sorrenson, G. 8. Smith, J. A, Baritow, H. B. Morton, T. A. Belfleld, J. G. ttamsay, N. J. Grannion, D. McLennan, Eev. J. Cofisy, T. Dunne and wife, M. Geard and wife, T. Haslatn (wifa and ekild), Mis« B. Morton, Mrs N. J. Collins, and tea steerage. .

Lomdoic, November 20th. The Irish agitation, has attained alarm* ing proportions. : • Seventeen warrants, are reported for seditious language including five clergymen. The garrisonsof Westport,Clara Castle, Oughberard and other places in Ireland , have been strongly reinforced, and the" Constabulary has been under ams day ■ and night. The news of the arrestof the three agitators, Davitt, Eillen and Daly, caused great excitement in Ireland and among the large Irish populatida of . . Dundee, who had been addressed by"" Davitt a day or two before: Many Irish landlords-are leaving the country through fear of usassinations. Three additional regiments are under, i orders to proceed to Ireland. "-- i: : A new cause of apprehension oooosea* ing the military has, however, arisen. A large proportion of the soldiers about to be sent to Ireland are Irishmen, and hints' have been thrown out that if ordered to fire upon their countrymen they will re* • fuse to obey. In the barracks of these regisjftnts Home Rule and Nationalist journals of Ireland are frequently earn ; and emissaries from Ireland have been : frequent visitors to the soldiers. . The leading officers of .the Ancient ,\. Order of Hibernians say hundreds of members are anxious to depart intaae> :.- diately to Canada to invade British possessions in retaliation for the arrest v and imprisonment of three advocates of Ireland's liberty. - Preparations continue to -to pushed forward in India with uddinrinisked vigor. - - A large number of cars'* and a } quantity of war material are being Ny shipped from Bombay to Kurraehee. "^ The Viceroy of India telegraphs that r ' the expedition has started for Ghnzoee, [ where there are malcontents stirred up by the preaching of the Mollahs. The investigation into the massacre at British Legation continues. Forty-nine Afghans have been hanged for complicity. The' • inquiry into the Ameer's conduct in relation thereto progresses.- It has been discovered that on the night before the battle of* Charasiah he was visited in hit tent by Naib Mahomed, who commanded ■ the enemy on the next day. Yakoob Khan is now ptactieally a prisoner. All his attendants except four, have been dismissed, a sentry is constantly on duty inside his quarters, and a strong guard outside. ■ . : - ,
