At a meeting at Hamilton re the Thames-Waikato railway a resolution .was carried urging the Government to call for tenders for constructing the above railway as far as surveyed, from Hamilton to the Piako. A telegram was reud at the Waste Lands Board meeting, stating that the natives in the Poverty Bay district were willing to pay a royalty if allowed to collect grass seed on the Pntutahi block. It was decided to invite tenders for the purchase of grass, and to acquaint the natives with tbat determination.
