LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wellington, Last night. Alteration in Land Bill-
The whole evening sitting of the Council was taken up in Committee pn the Lands Act Amendment Bill. Many amendments were made in the measure, the most important being that the clause allowing optional residence by deferred payments' selectors was struck out by ] 6 to 5. Council adjourned at 11.
