Sunday night. Nothing further has been heard of the vessels John Watson and Saxon. It was rumoured this morning that John Watson has been abandoned off Pig Hunting Creek, but the intelligence brought by the guard of the Oamaru train, slates that a vessel, probably the Watson was well of (he land when the train was near Normandy.
. At the Police Goiirf, a man was charged with the larceny of £1 from the bedroom of the barman at the Caledonia Hotel, Tumuka. Defendant was acquitted, there was insufficient evidence to convict.
