I This day. Vote of Want of Confidence to co Moved. Mi- Macandrcw will move, when the House is going into Committee of Supply, " That tho House has no confidence in the financial proposals of the Government." Mr Andrews has given notice to move for a reduction of live per cent, on till salaries orcr £200, and ail Ministerial salaries ten per cent. It is understood that au attempt will bo made'by tho Ministerial party to reduce ull Civil Service salaries above £200 a year by five per cent., and Ministerial salaries by ten per cent.
It is intended to abolish all subsidies, except to poor and scattered districts, which arc to be aided according to their requirements. Another large slip has occurred on tho Wuirarapa railway at the mouih of tho tunnel on tho summit.
Twelve designs for the new Post arid Teli'graph Offices hare been received, and it is expected they will be reported on this week.
