Last night
The steward of the Hospital, James Hill, was brought up before the R.M. today charged with committing rape on a patient named Johanna Harmel, a Giirman woman. The prosecutris and her husband cannot speak a word of English, and the witnesses were examined through an interpreter. The prosecutrix and her husband have been examined, the evidence being circumstantial. To-mor-row the accused it is said has witnesses to provo an alibi, and the patients in the rooms adjoining assert that they heard no noise.
