Saturday night. The Governor and suit left this afternoon in tho liinemoa for Wellington, via Akaroa.
The settling took place this afternoon on the metropolitan meeting. The follow, ing amounts were paid over as stakes :— H. Goodman, £717 10s; E. Eae, £796 13s; W. Walters £142 15; Mason and Vallance, £205 103 ; H. Prince, £338 4?; K. G. Griffiths, £570; J. W. Malloch, £256 10s; D. O'Brien, £190; H. Eedwood, £20; J. Lunn and 8. Powell, £10 each; C. H. Owen, £15; P. Butler, £5.
At the sale of racehorses to-day, Fishhook was sold for 525 guineas. Teara 176 guineas. Both were bought by Mr Jobbcrns.
