Judgment in the Lingard's case against E.T.Gil'ou, respecting Dramatic Authors' Fees, is postponed till Thursday.
Captain Holt, who recently went to Sydney as Eeuter's agent, is dangerously ill of cancer in the stomach. Doctors despair of fits recovery.
Francis Young was committed for trial for stealing a cheque for £12 10s from Colonel Whitraore's residence. The Colonel said tho prisoner was an ok! Color-Sergt. in tho same regiment as himself, and had s«rved his time very creditably to himself, but was in very straitened circumstances.
Jas. Taylor, son of the Superintendent of Southland, clerk in the Treasury, blew his brains out this morning.
