THE LATE ACCIDENT.
(To the Editor of tho Evening Star.)
Sik, —Permit mo through your columns to correct au error that I feel sure has been made through misapprehension. When I took poor Sbuttleworth to tho hospital yesterday I certainly stated that I did not know his real name. Beyond the fact that for some years he has at various times worked for me under the name of "Edward 'Lewis" (which I always knew was not his real uaoK-)> I was positively and am totally ignorant.of any other matters concerning him privately. Trusting this may throw a different light on what would otherwise appear to the injured man himself, and to everybody else, a piece of wanton cruelty.—l am, dtc, Fbedebick Weils. Tararu Eoad,.ffov. 12,1879.
To Correspondents.—" Rachel's " letter is crowded out, but will appear tomorrow.
