Last night

A shoemaker named Richard Joy, 81 years of age, living at Brighton, was killed on Saturday night by the upsetting of a wagonuctt3.

A. small cottage at Hill Side, occupied by R. Sclford was completely burned down this morning. The loss is covered by insurance in the Colonial and Standard. Origin not known.

'The weather to-day was tplendid for the holiday, and a large number of visitors were in town. The volunteer parade rerrew and sham fight this morning was a great success. large numbers of persons witnessed tho Brigades' demonstration to-night.
