Mr Horace Ford, well-known in .Napier as a hotel keeper, died suddenly afc the Commercial Hotel this morning, he having been attended by Dr Diver for some time past. An inquest is not likely (o be held. The ship Wairoa was admitted to pratique today. One of the passengers who came out by her has been committed to the lunatic Asylum. A man named Christopher Cornell, formerly second mate of the barque Western Belle was committed for trial to-day on two charges of sodomy en youths. The cablo steamer Agnes has beeu working at the cable all day, and it was expected that the repairs would be completed this evening.
