Fatal Boat Accident.
Two Lives Lost.
A fatal boat accident occurred here on Saturday afternoon. While George Day and his four sons were bringing down a boat load of firewood from Kauri Point to Auckland, a squall struck the boat, and the father and one of his sons were drowned.
A girl named Quinan, aged U, was conflned in a water closet, and the child was discovered in a cesspool. A postmortem examination of the body of (he infaut tukes place to-morrow. Tbe Coromandel monthly return of gold is 880 ounces.
