Last night,

A telephone concert was given last night by tho Railway Band at Chester Street Fire Brigade Station to various audiences at the Sunnysido Asylum, the Litchfleld Brigadn Station, and the police depot. The music was heard distinctly at all the places of entertainment, and was very enjoyable. The Foresters' Dramatic Society hare presented Mrs Walter Hill with a purse of 30 pounds, the proceeds of a recent entertainment.

At a Liberal Association meeting last evening the Secretary was instructed to forward a telegram to Mr Maeandrew, M.H.R., informing him that the Canterbury Liberal lieform Association fully agree with his proposed amendment re the qualification of electors. Edgar Osborne waa to-day committed for trial for attempted arson.
