A meeting of tho Chamber of Commerce was held to receive the report of thf
committee on the question of what relief can bo afforded to lniinui'ncLurers by abolishing or lessoning duties. Tho committee said tu«y aro unable to agree on a report. The following resolution wits passed : —"This chamber is of opinion that relief may be afforded to local industries by tho remission of Customs duties on articles imported and used for manufacturing purpose*:."
