WELLINGTON.
Scatters Financial.
This day.
The Wellington Prices Current says the strain upon the resources of tho banks is not appreciably diminished sinco previous quarter, although advances are approximately the same, whilst deposits are nearly two millions less than they were, thus showing an increase in the balance of indebtedness of the public to the bunks of £1,837,800. This result it attributed to ihe great discrepancy botween the imports and exports in the open market. Ton to twelve per cent, are still current rates for advances on freehold securities, and tho demand is far iv excess of supply. ——.
