Thames Annual Races.
A meeting of gentlemen was held at the Governor Bowen Hotel, for the laudable purpose of finding out ways and meana for getting up the Annual Race Meeting. Mr 5. Young was in the Chair and Mr Harcourt was elected to act as Secretary. There were about seventeen present, amongst whom we noticed Messrs M. Brown, J. Towniend. J. C. Williami, J. Craig, M. Taughan, Geo. Symington, F. Bennett, M. Casey, J. Wibon, and several others. It was proposed and carried —" That the Thames Annual Race Meeting be held on the 26th and 27th. December, and that a meeting be called for the 11th inst, for the election of officers and any other business that may be brought before the meeting." The public will see by the above that nil the old sports have not left the place bat that they intend getting up another enjoyable meeting. We wish them all sorts of luck, and si the same time hope that in their canvassing for the needful they will meet with success from the tradespeople aud others, which the object deserves.
