* Last night. Judge Gillies has arrived here to hold a session of the Supremo Court, which opens on Monday. He hears two cases of appeal ou Saturday. ▲ sad Suicide. A shocking suicide was committed this morning about half past five. Mrs George Connett was missed, and her daughter went to the closet to see if she was there. When she opened the door she beheld the ghastly sight of her mother leaning against the side of "the closet with her
throat cut, and a razor covered with bloocf lying close by ber. She attempted to take her life about threo years ago, and since tbat time she bus conducted herself so well that no idea was entertained that she would endeavor to make awny with herself. An inquest was held today, when a verdict of temporary insanity was returned.
