NEW PLYMOUTH.
Last night. The few natives who left Parihaka last month are again returning to hear the words of the prophet. The extraordinary high rate of mortality amongst the children at Parihaka has not yet subsided. It is said that there have been over 100 deaths there in a few weeks, as many as 12 children dying in one day.
Owing to the heavy sea running it was impossible to tender the steamer Waitaki, and she was compelled to proceed to Auckland, leaving behind one portion of the outward English mail.
