Harbor Board Election.
EETUEN OF ME JOHN 'LEYDON.
A meeting of the electors of the Harbor Eoard was held at the Council Chambers at noon to-day for the purpose of electing a member to £111 the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr Wm. Davies. There were thirty or forty pre» sent.
The Chairman of the Board (Mr Brown) road the advertisement calling the meeting, nnd then requested them to appoint a Chairman and Returning Officer for the meeting. On the motion of Mr Osborne, seconded by Mr Leydon, Mr Brown was voted to chair, and having satisfied himself that all present were electors called for nominations. Mr Veale proposed, and Mr O. D. Grant seconded Mr A. Hogg. Mr R. IS. Smith proposed and Mr E. McDonnell seconded Colonel Wm. Fraser. Mr Guthrio proposed and Mr Davis seconded Mr J. M. Meonie. Mr Head proposed, and Mr Menuie seconded Mr Levdon.
The election, oy show of hands, was then proceeded with, with the following result: —Hogg 14, W. Fraser 15, Mennie 14, Leydon 17. ' -* The Chairman decltred ,Mr Leydon duly elected a member of the Thames Harbour Board. Mr Leydoa having returned thanks
for the honour done him, a vote oi' thanks was accorded to the Chairman on'the motion of Mr Hogg, aud the meeting adjourned.
