NELSON.
Last night.
Nothing further is known here as to the wreck of the Messengi r. The weather has been very thick with a heavy downpour of rain. So that little, can be done in searching for the boat. The fcteamer Lady Barkley left on the search at one this morning, and the Naval Brigade boat went out at ten this morning. The steamer Murray on her way to Kekekerangi, will search in the neighbourhood of IVDrville's Island. The rainstorm yesterday was the heaviest known for 12 years. Up to last night, about 5 inches ■fell, and no such flood has been experienced for 12 years. It caused some inconvenience and the contents of one or two malt houses, and some cellars were damaged by the flood, caused by the drains and the sewers being insufficiently large to carry off the storm water.
