Sunday night. A ship has been signalled at the Heads all day. She is supposed io be the Matilda, which loaded at Kapiti with cargo landed from the stranded ship Hyderabad, but as the St. Leonards from London in due, it may probably be her. Saturday night. The Hotel Employees Association, hare decided that no member shall accept an appointment where Chinese are engaged. During ensuing sessions, the Masonic Lodges in Wellington, intend founding scholarships which shall be open for com* petition amongst the sons of Masons. The Loftus Troupe during their stay here took nearly £1,200, or £400 per week. Two men named H. and Albert Corlett, were seriously injured at the Huti yesterday, by the frame of a house in course of erection falling on them.
