Last night.
The annual report of the Choral Society shews that it is not in a very flourishing position, having a balance of only a few shillings; the report also uhews a decrease in the acting members.
The society recently formed to prevent Chinese being engaged as cooks or waiters in hotels, intend protesting against any Chinese being engaged on board steamers.
The Pinafore Opera troupe are drawing crowded houses. Miss Leaf being indisposed, Madame le Cou tier has taken the lead.
The topsail scbocuer, Shepherdess has become a total wreck at Charleston, owing to her moorings parting. She was insured, but it did not. include the port of Charleston, and therefore Messrs Joseph and Co., the owners will lose the insurance.
