More Work for the anti-Chinese Association.

The necessity for Legislation.

It is said that Chinamen in Auckland, in. conjunction with other Chinese firms ia New Zealand, and backed by a powerful combination of their countrymen in Hong Kong, are about to try the experiment of. importing into this province as well as into other parts of the colony, a completely organised party of Chinamen, representing various trades and callings, in order to compete with the local work* men, and that is to be followed by other similar shipments should the first succeed.

Information has been received that the Hinemoa will be in the Manukau on Sunday, and leave for Wellington with the Auckland members on Monday next.

At the declaration of the Waitemata poll, Mr J. S. Macfarlane said, with reference to the speech of the Premier, which he delivered in Auckland, he would only say that he intended- to refer to it seriatim through the press. It contained gross' fabrications, gross untruths, and if he did not prove it to be untrue, then let the people discard him for ever from Auckland. '
