Lord Hartington, in a farewell speech at liadnor, advocated au enquiry into the working of the Land Laws, and an amendment of existing statutes if found necessary.
St. JPeteesbubg, September 6. Disastrous floods are reported from several districts.
The [Russian ambassador at Constantinople has been appointed ambassador to Great Britain. ■
