This o>t Swanson, Government' supporter was returned unopposed for Newton. Tole, Government supporter, and Whitaker Opposition, were nominated for Eden.
The nomination for Eden took place at noon to-day, at Newmarket There was* large attendance, and Messrs Tole and Whitaker were proposed. The shew of hands was lor Tole seventy-five, and Whitaker twenty-three. A poll was d<K# manded. ■ '• ■. :
The meeting closed with three cheera for Grey and Tole.
