This day. An Opposition. Candidate Ro- ! ceives a Vote of Confidence. Captain Morris addressed the electors at Gisborne on Saturday night at the Masonic Hall. There were about 700, present. He made a vigorous speech, and answered questions satisfactorily. He received a vote of confidence. A committee was formed of leading residents to secure hia return.' It is considered doubtful "whether a Government candidate would have any chance of being returned here. The Maoris held a meeting, and they decided to support Morris.
