Last night. F. A. Learmouth reports that he has buyers of Colonial Banks at 40s, Sonth British at 50s, National' at 20s, and Unions at 12s 6d.
Produce market is quiet: oats, 3s 6d to 3s 8d; chick wheat, 4s 9d to S»; potatoes, £7 10s to £8; butter scarce, and prime is worth Is Id; chaff scarce, £9 to £12, according to sample.
An influential meeting at Boss to secure the return of the Hon. Mr Gisborne was held last evening. Mr Gisborne's return is certain, as it is almost sure he will be unopposed,- as no candidates are yet publicly announced for Hokitika and the electors strongly support the" Grey policy.
