Mr Joseph Ivess, well known as a journalist, ia" spoken of as a probable candidate for Coleridge, There are only three polling places for Coleridge, which covers about 100 miles of country, and unless the number is largely increased more than half the electors will be unable to record their Totes. Application for work from the unemployed continue to be daily received by the Borough authorities. The E.M., in a judgment summons, ruled that debtors could not be imprisoned for debt unless it was clearly shown that they had the means and were determined not to satisfy the prosecuting creditor. He has also decided that goods seized by a judgment could not afterwards be claimed by a landlord for rent.
