After a long discussion on th« action of the Gorernment re the Thames and Waikato Railway, on the motion of (lie hon G. M. Waterhouse, the Council passed a resolution strongly condemning the action of the GoTernment as a direot Tiolation of the law. '
Messrs, Bell, <Waterhouae, Pollen, and Hall sererely anim'adrerted on the illegal action of the GorerDment, which had been done solely to bay political support. , ..,,..', -!'' Sir'D. Bell tabled a motion that the Gofernment should- be' prerented from handling any of the new loan. The Council adjourned at 5 to 7.30 to diicuss the Loan Bill.
