The Oakura ploughmen were remanded, for a fortnight by the District Court Judge to enable the Crown Prosecutor to apply at Auckland for a change of venue 'to Wellington..';' ■.;■■,] >;j> , ' >."• - The prisoners were quiet, and cam* into the Court-house under the gdard of a few unarmed Constabulary.
A vote of thanks waa passed at a public meeting, to the Volunteers who tendered their services for duty on this.coast during the late trouble. ■_
